Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Stocksbridge

structured 12-hour day shift pattern, including weekends.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of various industrial systems. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of heavy machinery and other critical systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead a team and work effectively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair: Oversee the maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, pumps, drives, gearboxes, and heavy machinery.
- System Management: Manage water cooling systems, conveyor systems, dust extraction systems, and more.
- Leadership: Lead a small team and collaborate with cross-functional groups.
- Problem-Solving: Methodically fault-find issues to root cause and implement front-line rectification.
- Permit Systems: Work under permit systems or have knowledge of their operation.
- Customer Focus: Prioritise tasks effectively with a customer-focused attitude.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship: A recognised apprenticeship, preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent.
- Hydraulic systems
- Pumps, drives, and gearboxes
- Heavy machinery
- Water cooling systems
- Conveyor systems
- Dust extraction systems
- Robotics and PLCs
- Vacuum systems
- AC & DC circuits
- Self-starting individual capable of leading a small team.
- Ability to work with various departments.
- Strong skills in methodical fault-finding and rectification.
- Experience or knowledge of working under permit systems.
- A customer-focused attitude with an understanding of prioritisation.
