Job Description
Position: Year 5 Class Teacher
Location: NW2 1AB, Barnet
Contract Type: Full-Time, Onsite, Maternity cover
Required Qualification: Qualified Teaching Status. Achieved through a PGCE, SCITT, or equivalent teacher training programme.
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £160 per day
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
About the role: We invite you to join our vibrant primary school in Barnet as a Year 5 Teacher. As our Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping young minds and encouraging creativity and collaboration within your classroom. This maternity cover position will start after the half-term break, allowing you to seamlessly transition into a class of settled students who are currently thriving with their existing teachers. You will work closely with a mix of pupils, including a few EAL students who are new to the country, ensuring that all children feel valued and inspired to learn. With two classes in the Year 5 year group and collaborative planning already in place, you will have the opportunity to plan engaging lessons alongside your parallel teacher, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements :
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Achieved through a PGCE, SCITT, or equivalent teacher training programme.
* Experience in Key Stage 2 (KS2): Proven experience teaching children aged 9–11, ideally as a Year 5 Teacher.
* Strong Curriculum Knowledge: Expertise in the National Curriculum for KS2 subjects, especially English, Maths, and Science.
* Enhanced DBS Check: Required for safeguarding and child protection.
* Classroom Management and Assessment Skills: Ability to manage behaviour and assess pupil progress effectively.
* Good Communication and Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and leadership.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in NW2 1AB
