About the role
We are looking for a Graduate Site Engineer with an interest in the water industry to work on our exciting Northumbrian Water contract in The Northeast. Youll be site-based working closely with a Site Manager and Project Manager as we look to deliver a programme of works as part of the Living Water Enterprise. Being a Graduate Site Engineer for this contract means you will be based in the Berwick/Newcastle/Durham/Middlesbrough areas, and you will collaborate with the team and client to ensure successful delivery projects throughout their lifecycles.
This role is a September 2025 start. Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is required.
What a typical day could look like
Taking part in morning briefings to the subcontract and direct delivery teams with a focus on Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
Learning to risk assessing and the compile Method Statements to carry out the works safely.
Understand how to be responsible for the setting out and recording of newly built infrastructure with a keen eye on quality working on a Right First Time basis.
Develop the ability to ensure works are built in accordance with accepted design and correct engineering specifications and the recording of this to hand back to our client in an assurance of quality.
Build the confidence, knowledge and skills to eventually be responsible for line and level of new infrastructure taking it from conceptual design to a finished structure.
About you
We want our graduates to challenge the status quo, encourage different points of view and drive creativity as well as bring insights from your education and life experiences to the role; you will be empowered to make a difference. You should be agile, resilient and ready to take on real industry challenges.
We would like you to be graduating in 2025 or have graduated in the last 12-24 months and hold at least a 2:2-degree qualification. A degree in either Civil Engineering, Engineering or Project Management is required for this role. You will be computer literate, have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work individually and as part of a team. We would also like you to be organised, self-driven and have good attention to detail with a desire to keep on developing.
