Road Logistics Cross Border Specialist - Kegworth East Midlands - JR2410_0005

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to manage and optimise our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient movement of consignments and services, maintain schedules, and coordinate with various departments, including drivers and supply partners to meet delivery deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work on site during all scheduled work hours.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and Coordinate Transport Operations: Develop and implement transportation schedules, routes, and procedures to ensure timely delivery of consignments.
  • Monitor and Track Shipments: Use tracking systems and local TMS to monitor the progress of shipments and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Liaise with Drivers, 3rd party suppliers and partners: Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and partners to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of transportation activities, including consignment details, costs, and delivery times.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Optimise Costs: Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and complaints regarding transportation services.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Work closely with the partners, warehouse, and sales teams to align transportation activities with overall business objectives

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination.
  • Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
