Job Description
Key Responsibilities Legal Expertise: Provide effective legal counsel, mitigating legal risks. Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and agreements. Act as a legal resource, offering opinions and insights on legal and insurance matters. Stay informed on legislation and ensure business compliance. Risk Management: Identify and address legal risks proactively. Manage litigious matters and instruct external legal counsel as needed. Oversee legal contracts database. Compliance & Relationships: Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, including TCF, POPI, CPA, FAIS, FICA, and insurance legislation. Handle complaints and liaise with regulatory bodies. Build strong relationships across all organizational levels. Minimum Qualifications Matric / Grade 12 Admitted Attorney Postgraduate qualification (advantageous) 5 years post-qualification experience Experience and Skills Required Proven track record in the financial services or insurance sector (5 years). In-depth understanding of compliance frameworks and financial legislation. Expertise in commercial law, legal drafting, and reporting. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
