Our client, a leading manufacturing company specialising in high-quality products, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team in Renfrewshire.
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing engineering and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring optimal efficiency, and delivering high-quality products to the market. Collaborating with various departments, you will lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery while managing a portfolio of improvement projects aligned with the business's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement activities across all departments, identifying opportunities for enhancements and implementing effective solutions.
* Project Management: Manage and deliver improvement projects, from research to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Data Analysis: Collate and analyse performance data to identify trends and improvement areas.
* Innovation: Research and develop innovative solutions to optimise processes, products, and equipment.
* Collaboration: Work closely with third-party providers, internal teams, and management to execute continuous improvement projects effectively.
* Training & Development: Train and develop team members, including apprentices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Safety & Compliance: Generate risk assessments, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and implement safe systems of work.
* Process Management: Oversee the introduction of new equipment and processes, including commissioning and condition-based maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
* HNC in Electrical/Mechanical systems or equivalent discipline, or an Engineering Graduate with relevant knowledge.
* Competence in CAD systems.
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Yellow Belt in Six Sigma).
* Knowledge of PLC control systems and quality management systems such as Q-Pulse is advantageous.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Experience in a similar engineering role (minimum 5 years for experienced candidates).
* Familiarity with project management methodologies.
* Proven technical expertise in a manufacturing environment.
