Mobile Fabric Engineer
Location: Staffordshire, ST1 5PZ
Hours of work: 41.25
Contract Type: Permanent
The Mobile Fabric Engineer role supports ISS’s mission of becoming the world’s greatest service organisation by delivering exceptional building maintenance services that empower customers to achieve their objectives.
The engineer will provide a variety of building services engineering tasks to client properties across the designated region, ensuring consistent, world-class service.
Job Description
Responsibilities include addressing plumbing, carpentry, and other fabric-related repairs, as well as performing maintenance and installations to maintain safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environments.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in multi-discipline fabric engineering and have experience in carpentry, plumbing, and related trades.
You will work independently across the regional portfolio, demonstrating a proactive and customer-focused approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee fabric-related PPM, proactive, and reactive tasks, ensuring timely completion and exceeding customer expectations
* Perform maintenance duties across building services, including exterior works, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry
* Conduct external grounds maintenance tasks
* Provide callout response as per the on-call rota
* Manage contractor oversight, ensuring workmanship meets required standards, and issue Permits to Work
* Maintain equipment performance and ensure areas meet company standards
* Deliver a professional service to ensure customer satisfaction and uphold the company's reputation
* Evaluate equipment performance and ensure proper servicing and maintenance
* Proactively address client concerns or escalate to management as needed
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in plumbing
* NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field with plumbing qualifications
* NVQ/City & Guilds in carpentry, woodworking, or related trade qualification
* Alternatively, time-served multi-trades operative with substantial carpentry and joinery experience
* Recognised craft apprenticeship preferred
* IPAF/PASMA
* Full UK Driving License
If enough proven experience in the below, no qualifications will be considered:
* Proven experience in plumbing, carpentry, and fabric-related building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, and installation
* Strong background in reactive and PPM building services maintenance
* Familiarity with FM or building services in commercial properties
