We are now looking for a business reporter to produce news across all business sectors, from retail and consumer trends, to transport and industry. The team covers stories ranging from retailers trying to reinvent the high street, to cryptocurrencies attracting a new generation of investors, to households and businesses wrestling with the impact of the climate crisis.
The role is intended to bring diverse perspectives to business news and broaden our coverage of under-represented groups, and would be ideal for a journalist looking to build their experience in business reporting.
About the Role
- Provision of business news and features across all of our platforms
- Writing breaking news
- Writing features and exclusive off-diary news
- Building and maintaining a network of industry contacts – developing sources to uncover exclusive stories
- Bringing fresh perspectives to business journalism
- Collaborating with teams across the Guardian, including in video, audio and social media, as well as colleagues internationally
About You
- Understanding of and interest in business and economics
- Proven news reporting experience
- Ability to generate exclusive news stories
- Feature writing experience
- Ideally, you’ll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role
