About Rockhampton Hospital:

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility, the central referral hospital for Central Queensland. It offers a wide range of specialist medical services, including Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, General Surgery, and Geriatrics. They host training programs in partnership with the University of Queensland and Central Queensland University.

The Role:

As a Consultant (Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist) in Geriatric Medicine, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care across various programs, including acute, sub-acute, community, outpatient, and perioperative care. You’ll be responsible for managing complex patient pathways, providing consultation services, and participating in an Orthogeriatric service.

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

- Supporting ongoing safety and quality improvement initiatives.

- Participating in education, research, and training within the team.

- Leading complex discharge planning and consultation services across Central Queensland.

Your Qualifications:

A fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent overseas qualification (e.g. CCT or CCST) is essential. Overseas trained applicants whose training has already been assessed by RACP as being 'substantially comparable' will be highly regarded.
