Job Description
As CNC Machinist you’ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines in line with the delivery requirements of the business.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
* Set and operate CNC machines using the set-up sheets, tooling/fixtures and Edgecam programmes provided by our Production Engineering team
* Run machines in line with the speeds and feeds required whilst monitoring performance to ensure cycle times are met
* Carry out in-cycle parts inspections using measuring equipment including micrometres and verniers
* Identify non-conforming parts and report immediately, ensuring root cause is established, documented, and passed to Production Team Leaders
* Take responsibility for the quality and inspection of your work including ownership of cleaning and de-burring parts
What you’ll need as CNC Machinist:
* Experience in all aspects of production machining, both manual and CNC, gained via an apprenticeship or equivalent programme of development
* Safety first attitude with understanding and experience of operating 5S plus safety practices
* Ability to flex priorities and duties depending on the needs of the business
* Experienced in all aspects of workshop practices including understanding of engineering drawings, proficient using micrometres and able to convert imperial to metric
* Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Collaborative approach to problem solving and implementing changes to ensure the business meets its production targets.
