Job Description

The Principal Product Manager, "Swift" Network Modernization and Observability, is a key position responsible for the vision, strategy and management of the product roadmap to support Ribbon's goal to accelerate evolution and scale of our network transformation and SBC solutions in key Tier 1 accounts. As a result of winning a large multi-year network modernization contract with a big tier 1 service provider in North America, we need to accelerate product deliveries and upgrade the designs to increase the manufacturing scale of the portfolio to meet customer demand. In addition, the initiative includes observability and network management solution for key components in the tier 1 networks like voice call control systems and session border controllers. This individual will be a matrixed leader within the Cloud and Edge Business Unit that sets and executes on the vision to take products through the next evolution for cost reductions, virtualization and Cloud Native architectures with ease of operations and management as the primary focus. This individual will ensure that product offerings are aligned with evolving customer expectations, manage pricing strategy, and help with advancing and evolving customer experiences. This is a "roll up your sleeves" kind of role where the right candidate would set the direction, work collaboratively across multiple product teams and deliver solutions that are of the highest quality and carrier grade scale while providing market leading operational efficiency.Responsibilities include:New program for Voice Network Modernization, Observability and Network ManagementOwnership and vision of the product roadmap including prioritization of features and GTM strategiesSupport additional network modernization bidsManagement of pricing models and pricing strategyAssess product development enhancement opportunities and appropriate release cadenceInfluence cross-functional leaders in support of strategic product directionsCoordinate RFx responses and field trialsWork with sales on product quotes, customer specific presentations and determining new product requirementsDeliver training to keep the sales team updated on product innovationProduct lifecycle management from concept to launch to end-of-lifeAlign product vision with the businesses short and long-term goalsDrive innovative ideas, solutions and products backed up by business case analysis, through the leadership teamFunction as an evangelist of Ribbon's products and participate in press activities, conferences, discussions with thought leaders and/or market analystsRequire Skills:8+ years of progressive Product Management experienceExperience with Observability and Network Management solutionsUnderstanding of infrastructure platforms like KVM, VMWare, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AWS-EKSUnderstanding of a Telecom Service Provider Operations capabilities is a plusProven experience developing and delivering operationally efficient solutions in Cloud and non-Cloud environmentsKnowledge of industry adopted technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm, GitOps and a variety of CI/CD toolsExperience monetizing subscription solutionsExperience with Telecommunications products and solutions related to SIP, SBC, IMS, UCaaS and Network Management addressed towards Carriers and Large EnterprisesAbility to easily transition from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed executionExcellent presentation and communications skillsProven ability to work collaboratively with teams across organizations in multiple geographic locationsStrong communication skills: must be able to provide clear directions and information, both verbal and written.
