Pfizer Futures

If you’re a college student, Pfizer Futures is your chance to gain real-world, impactful work experience for 10-12 weeks during the summer. This U.S. program offers undergraduate Freshman-Seniors, the opportunity to grow and develop into the next Pfizer Colleague.

With opportunities across the Enterprise, Pfizer Futures interns will support their division’s goals and initiatives while building relationships and learning about Pfizer.

The 2025 Pfizer Futures application portal will be open from October 15, 2024, to December 15, 2024.

Applications and placements for this program are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Responsibilities

Pfizer Research & Development (PRD) teams deliver medical care by delivering breakthrough therapies and vaccines faster with uncompromised quality. Pfizer Research & Development is powered by the most talented scientists and professionals in the industry setting the stage for unprecedent success. PRD roles responsibilities may include laboratory and non-laboratory experiences including, (but are not limited to): 

  • Assist in the development and execution of research projects under the guidance of experienced scientists and research teams. 
  • Perform laboratory work and experiments following all safety and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery and development processes. 
  • Attend meetings and present research updates to senior scientists and stakeholders. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in pharmaceutical research. 
  • Gain experience with Artificial intelligence, computational biology, and digital medicine.  
  • Provide scientific support for a specific research proposal and work closely with the team to develop fundamental laboratory skills including accurate collecting and recording of experimental results.
  • Support the Vaccines R&D team, a fully integrated, global operation that advances assets from discovery to registration and beyond, with talent and technical capabilities in Basic Research, early CMC Development, Clinical Development, Clinical Serology and Diagnostics and Operations
  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify gaps in evidence that can be addressed by the generation of real-world evidence or development of health economic models to support novel product launches
  • Support a range of health economics analyses such as treatment pattern and outcomes, comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness
  • Gain experience in primary cell isolation and culture, scientific techniques including flow cytometry, experimental design, literature review, data analysis, and presentation of data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be immediately authorized to work in the U.S. This Program cannot support applicants who require employer sponsored visas now or in the future.
  • Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a full-time university program (an accredited college / university degree program at the time of application)
  • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester
  • Be able to commute to a Pfizer location 4+ days a week. Please note, some lab/manufacturing roles may require additional on-site days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Studying applicable degree (Life Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical Engineering)

The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.

Pay Rate Range: $26/hr to $29/hr
