**Experience:** 2 years of Surgical Tech experience, including 1 year of CVOR scrubbing experience and 1 year of CV experience as a Surgical Tech. 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred.

**Certifications:** BLS - American Heart Association

**Must-Have:** Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training. Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.

**Job Description:**

- Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and techniques.
- Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients, assembling case carts according to doctor’s preference lists.
- Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments during procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using established techniques and policies.
- Assist in the maintenance and care of specimens, preparing them for laboratory analysis.
- Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to policy and recommended standards.
- Assist with room turnover, including cleaning, replacing, and restocking supplies and equipment.
- Care for instruments and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments based on business needs.
- May be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
