You will be part of Oracle Healthcare’s Analytics Content Team. You will be working with a team of engineers in defining, designing, and delivering essential business intelligence interfaces to our customers in the health industry using the latest technologies on OCI. You should be able to understand broad systems interactions, be hands-on, be able to dive deep into any part of the Health Data Intelligence platform and have a good sense of cloud infrastructure. You should value simplicity and impact, work comfortably in a collaborative agile environment, and be excited to learn. Our senior engineers are also the people who can work independently and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. You should have experience developing and operating high-scale services that work against big data (billions of records) and an understanding of how to make these cloud-scale services resilient. You understand operational excellence and know-how to infuse a culture of being proactive within your team. You recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches. You take ownership of what you create from concept to ongoing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

We are looking for Data Engineers to join our team of healthcare analytics experts. The Data Engineer will work to create data products to meet diverse customer needs. The ideal candidate understands the appropriate structures and data modeling techniques to ensure reporting performance objectives are met. The Data Engineer will support the broader team and produce data content that address various needs with minimal duplication. The successful candidate will be excited to provide insights that help support the Health Data Intelligence mission of improving care delivery and health outcomes.

Responsibilities for Data Engineer:

Satisfy requirements to facilitate reusable data analytics products.

Create informative and actionable visualizations that facilitate end user self-service analytics.

Incorporate data from multiple healthcare domains (encounters, conditions, orders, payments) to create outcomes research and analysis.

Support stakeholders to deliver a consistent experience and predictable delivery.

Automate solutions to scale for very large data sets and thousands of customers.

Work with product management and analysts to address performance needs.

Ensure that data privacy is maintained and all security requirements are addressed.

Continually strive to improve functionality and look for optimizations.

Highly driven and motivated to ensure customer success.

Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in data engineering roles

Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and working familiarity Oracle database

Experience with data-oriented scripting languages: Python, R, Java, Scala, etc.

Experience with data visualization software – OAC, Tableau, BO, PowerBI, Qlik, Looker, Crystal

Comfortable working in an Agile SDLC environment

Source control & deployment systems, issue tracking, development KPIs

Experience building and optimizing data architectures and data sets

Experience with build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Helpful Skills

Understanding of Healthcare data domains – Claims, EHR, PBM

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
