Category Manager Buyer - Cayman Islands Salary: USD, Pension and Health Insurance contribution Purpose of Position: Complement Recruitment are recruiting for Category Manager and Buyer from the Retail Foods, Grocery Supermarket and Perishables industry for a position based on the Cayman Islands. The Category Manager Buyer will be responsible for the strategic planning, procurement, and overall management of the grocery and product categories. Apply Directly for this Job by clicking here - https://bit.ly/3LkgmiK Minimum Requirements Qualifications And Skills QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive experience in category management, buying, or a similar role within grocery, perishables, retail supermarkets and the like Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful procurement and inventory strategies. Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling and data analysis. Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous terms. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams. Proficient in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite. EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, or related field preferred, hands on work experience, 5 years Relevant professional certifications preferred. Police Clearance Certificate & Valid Passport Medicals and Bloodwork tests to be completed prior to departure Company will assist with Work Permit, and extended Visa upon arrival on the island KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive category strategies that align with overarching company objectives. Schedule and lead critical path meetings to ensure timely execution of category strategies. Performance Analysis: Review historical sales data and market trends to forecast future product needs and performance outcomes. Define key growth drivers and adjust strategies to meet financial targets and market conditions. Vendor Negotiations: Support buying team in negotiations with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and terms. Manage supplier relations and performance, resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with contracts. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels through precise stock planning and OTB (open-to-buy) management. Implement markdown strategies to optimize inventory turnover and profitability. Merchandising: Collaborate with merchandising teams to create and maintain appealing and effective seasonal floor and store plans. Plan and supervise stock builds and allocations to ensure product availability and visibility. Sales and Marketing: Work closely with the marketing department to develop promotional strategies that enhance category visibility and appeal. Monitor and analyze promotional results and adjust strategies as needed. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers and category specialists. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and support. Communication: Ensure effective communication of category strategies and performance metrics across all levels of the organization. Participate in and lead meetings to review product performance, market trends, and team priorities. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all category activities comply with company policies and legal standards.
