Job Description

With the recent acquisition of SYNQ3 and Amelia, Soundhound is establishing itself as a leader in the restaurant and service space, providing state of the art smart ordering and answering solutions. As the customer base scales, engineering efforts must be undertaken to scale our model training and supply chain. Tools needs to be improved or created from scratch, especially as we transition to a new generation of end to end models. This opens up the door to keys challenges around data engineering, automation, tooling, monitoring, centered around creating scalable processes to deliver various ASR products to a customer base that is growing in number and diversity. This position presents a unique opportunity to touch on all the knobs that allow our industry grade ASR products to be made, and join an environment buzzing with opportunities to build synergies, and do heavy lifting in the wake of the recent mergers. It is set to allow for meaningful and impactful contributions to be made.
In this role, you will:
This role is available throughout France. Employees within a 100-kilometer radius of our Paris office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled "core days" each month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. Aside from these office-specific "core days," this job allows for virtual/remote, hybrid, and in-office workplace setting options. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. In this role, you will:
- Work with a team of ML engineers to debug, train (pyspark, pytorch, kubernetes), and benchmark ASR models (LM and end-to-end), and work on automating those steps out
- Attend to a portfolio of products and key accounts, by monitoring ASR performance, seeking out issues and solving them
- Develop tools around automation and data engineering to streamline our processes and help with the scalability needs arising from the recent merges
- Develop tools to improve our model diagnostics abilities
- Communicate at least weekly with key stakeholders around ASR performance, and the resolution of ongoing issues
- Engineer data pipelines to support our portfolio of ASR products
- You have very strong python coding skills, are up-to-date with the latest standards and are advocate of best practices
- You have regularly worked with spark/pyspark and other big data tools, have worked as a data scientist, ML engineer or similar
- You have built complex data pipelines to support machine learning products
- You are a critical thinker and data driven with a strong sense of ownership that you employ to ensure customer success
- You have a strong sense of the bottomline, you thrive on building synergies and delivering value to customers and coworkers
- Are knowledgeable on ASR and particularly Language Modeling and end-to-end systems
- Are proficient in cloud technologies such as kubernetes, docker, vault, terraform
- Have experience with distributed systems
- Have worked on generative AI and data generation
- Are a DB and data management wizard
