About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Reception Class Teacher to join a dynamic primary school in Barnet for a one-year maternity cover starting January 2025. This full-time role focuses on creating a supportive and nurturing environment for young learners, guiding them through foundational skills and early development stages. You will work closely with the early years team, utilising your management skills to lead a team of Teaching Assistants (TAs) and ensure that each child's unique needs are met, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are looking for someone with experience in phonics programmes, such as Read Write Inc., and familiarity with early maths frameworks. Application Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) via PGCE, SCITT, or equivalent.
* Strong experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), especially as a Class Teacher - Reception.
* Proven understanding of SEN support strategies.
* Familiarity with phonics (Read Write Inc.) and basic maths frameworks.
* Enhanced DBS check for safeguarding compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons following the EYFS curriculum.
* Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports all children, including those with SEN.
* Collaborate with and manage 3-4 Teaching Assistants effectively.
* Track and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to parents.
* Organise and maintain classroom resources and create stimulating displays.
