Director - Fund Finance Strategy - Private Markets
This is a great job for an expert professional looking to improve their existing financial and transactional expertise while playing a pivotal role in the strategic expansion of Aviva Investors' private markets platform.
A bit about the job:
As part of the Private Markets Fund Finance Strategy Team, you will report to the Head of Fund Finance Strategy, Private Markets. You will work closely with the Aviva Investors Private Markets business, including Fund/Investment Managers, Tax, Performance and Analytics teams, and key outsource partners like HSBC Security Services. You will act as a strategic partner to Fund Managers throughout the investment lifecycle of new and existing mandates. Supporting fund structuring and setup, guiding their evolution, and addressing customer and partner concerns about fund finance will be your main responsibilities. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing and implementing plans to drive the growth and development of our investment initiatives. You will be partnering with Fund Managers and the tax team to support new structure setups, particularly for key growth funds and mandates in the UK and Europe, such as venture capital, JV structures and nature based solutions.
The role involves providing financial and accounting support for strategic decision-making, taking full ownership of fund launches from a finance strategy perspective and partnering with fund managers as the fund evolves, in addition overseeing new transaction setup from a financial perspective. Your role will involve being responsible for the selection, engagement, onboarding, and budgeting of third-party administrators. You will also be the main point of contact for addressing customer and partner concerns regarding fund finance. Furthermore, you will contribute to tax structuring and reviewing fund flows. Additionally, you will prepare and manage setup cost budgets and TER analysis, drive the delivery of fund control capabilities agreed with HSBC, and act as a subject matter expert on UK and European fund structures, finance, and accounting processes. Supporting the design of fund operating guides for new structures and transactions is also a key part of this role.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent) with at least 8 years strong post-qualification experience in Private Markets.
- Experience with tax and structuring common private market transactions, such as LTAFs, Lux RAIFs, GP/LP structures, JPUTs, ELPs, and securitisation vehicles.
- Project management experience running deals from initial setup to close.
- Experience with sophisticated new fund launches and fund evolution
- Proven strategic and commercial attitude through involvement in business plans, mandate launches, and structure optimization.
