Job Description
Ambitek are currently recruiting for a Marine Project Manager (Ship Manager) for our client based over in Birkenhead.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily schedules and maintain effective communication with teams.
* Enhance productivity and efficiency across all operations.
* Focus on increasing gross margins, reducing costs, and maximizing sales opportunities.
* Coordinate various trade disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
* Optimize resource levels for better workflow.
* Manage the costs of materials and consumables effectively.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation.
* Regularly monitor performance and adjust outputs when necessary.
* Demonstrate commercial awareness and decision-making related to "build or buy" strategies.
* Ensure compliance with company standards and codes, including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO18001.
* Uphold and enforce QA/QC procedures, ensuring all departmental work adheres to the required regulations.
* Ensure all work under your control aligns with the company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
* Conduct frequent work area inspections to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Apprenticeship, HNC/HND level qualification, or equivalent experience in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical disciplines.
* Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels, along with a solid understanding of Planned Maintenance Systems.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Classification Society Rules.
* Experience supporting vessel docking and maintenance periods.
Ideal Candidate Traits:
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive productivity and efficiency.
* Proactive, self-starter capable of engaging with senior-level stakeholders.
* Highly organized, flexible, and pragmatic
