  • A registered Band 5 Occupational Therapist with a focus on community-based care for adults with learning disabilities.

  • A collaborative team player able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs), clients, relatives, and external agencies.

  • Someone who values equality and is committed to providing care that respects individual, cultural, and religious diversity.

  • Possess strong communication skills, utilizing a variety of tools to progress intervention programs even in potentially challenging situations.

  • A professional committed to ongoing learning and development, maintaining a professional portfolio for CPD.

  • Comfortable with flexible working arrangements and adaptable to potential changes in the work location.





What the Job Involves



  • Conducting occupational therapy assessments, targeting deficits and planning interventions to meet clients' self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure needs.

  • Working collaboratively with clients, families, and caregivers to set and achieve occupational therapy goals as part of an overall care plan.

  • Implementing individual or group interventions using graded activities to reach therapeutic goals, and monitoring their effectiveness.

  • Engaging in care coordination, discharge planning, and liaising with various health and social care sectors to provide a coordinated service.

  • Ensuring appropriate documentation of client information and interventions in line with professional standards.

  • Participating in service development initiatives, training, clinical governance, and contributing to the planning and audit of clinical practices.

  • Managing resources within the Occupational Therapy department, maintaining stock and equipment, and prioritizing caseloads effectively.
