AWE is currently recruiting for multi-disciplined Machine Tool Engineers and are offering other recognised trades the opportunity to upskill into the diverse and exciting role that directly contributes to the security of our country. A fully funded training package will be provided for successful candidates.
Once fully trained you will be responsible for performing a variety of Machine Tool lifecycle activities alongside our highly skilled and specialist team including assistance with installation, breakdown support, servicing and error mapping in order to optimise plant and equipment availability.
The role will give successful candidates the opportunity to develop skills on challenging bespoke projects across a range of facilities support their personal and professional career development.
Location - Reading area.
Package - Up to £40,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

You will be required to:
Carry out a wide range of maintenance activities efficiently and in a timely manner on plant and equipment.
Apply a range of technical fault-finding skills within own discipline.
Gather plant data and analyse results, using a range of techniques.
Implement modifications as directed by Task Manager.
Inspect and endorse the quality of own work to ensure it meets the required standard.
Apply mentoring skills to less experienced team members and apprentices.
Ensure the understanding and application of responsibilities regarding the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
Support other members of the team as requested.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Engineering Apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent working experience
C&G (as appropriate)/ ONC/HNC or above is desirable.
Knowledge of maintenance practices, technologies and techniques in your current trade.
Conversant in fault-finding techniques and methodologies.
Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Understanding and implementation of work control documents.
Working experience of operational plant maintenance service delivery desirable.
These roles are governed by Health and Safety at Work Regulations and require all candidates to have an Occupational Health-set fitness level in order to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed to work in controlled environments.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role
