SEN-TA – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

Location: Finchley

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:

As an SEN TA specialising in ASD, you’ll work alongside talented teachers to support children with autism across Key Stages 1 and 2. In this role, you’ll provide individualized guidance, fostering social skills and independence, while adapting activities to ensure each student can participate fully in school life. The right candidate will be patient, creative, and dedicated, bringing both compassion and consistency to the classroom.

Application Requirements:

• Experience in SEN Support: Demonstrable experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school or similar educational setting.
• Knowledge of ASD-Specific Strategies: Familiarity with ASD support techniques, sensory processing strategies, and behavior management tailored to children on the autism spectrum.
• Educational Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs (e.g., CACHE Level 3, a teaching assistant qualification, or SEN certification).
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
• Patience and Resilience: A compassionate and adaptable approach, with a high level of patience and the ability to manage challenging behavior constructively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer tailored support to children with ASD, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive lesson plans.
• Provide emotional and behavioral support, helping students navigate challenges.
• Foster positive relationships with students, supporting their social and emotional development.
• Engage with families and colleagues to ensure cohesive support for each child’s progress.
