Electrician

Purpose of the Role: Ensure production equipment, infrastructure, fixtures and all other equipment is in good operating condition and well maintained in terms of electrical issues. Conduct fault finding analysis, and repairs in the event of any malfunction. Position : Trade Test Electrician Location: Kempton Park - Johannesburg Industry: Manufacturing - Packaging - Plastics Qualification: Grade 12 Trade Test Electrician Electrical Trade Skills: Installation of electrical related equipment Fault - Finding and problem solving Ability to act decisively and urgently High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills Critical: Sound understanding of of drawings Fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing Health & Safety working procedures Role and Responsibilities Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic, wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures. Perform rigging activities ( be capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds and tools) Identify, report and rectify all technical area of concern on electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast paced. In-depth understanding of: Electrical principles and drawings DC, AC, single phase, 2 phase, 3 phase, 230V, 380V, and industrial troubleshooting Safety -related and other electrical functions diagnosing, malfunctioning, electrical systems, apparatus, components, and continuity of circuits using. Test equipment : Ohmmeter and Ammeter Voltmeter Oscilloscope and tools. Administrator: Log job performed Contact external suppliers as agreed with Senior Electrician to assist in solving problems ( quotes on service, on spare parts. Spares : Have an overview of existing stock for equipment Spare part analysis (keep stock vs source at breakdown) Likelihood of wear / breakage vs, delivery time. Report parts needed to Senior Electrician and assist in decision to have on stock or source at breakdown Assist Senior Electrician in ordering process ( prepare documents, follow up on orders.
