Job Description

The Director of Communication is responsible for shaping and implementing a comprehensive communication strategy to advance the company’s brand, reputation, and internal alignment. Reporting directly to the executive team, they support overall business objectives through cohesive communication efforts, both internally and externally. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on implementation, while advising leadership on high-impact communication initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesTasks and missions

Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and execute the company's overarching communication strategy (internal and external) to support business goals. Regularly adapt this strategy in response to market trends, company priorities, and audience insights.

Leadership Support and Advisory: Partner with the executive team to define and execute communication initiatives aligned with strategic objectives. Provide expert guidance and support to leadership on key messaging, thought leadership, and high-stakes communications.

External Communications and Media Relations: Design and manage the external communication plan to enhance brand visibility and reputation. Cultivate strong media relationships, oversee press communications, and lead initiatives to amplify the company’s presence across relevant channels.

Brand and Digital Presence Management: Lead the development and consistency of the company's brand identity and digital presence across all channels, including the website, social media, and digital campaigns. Ensure that all communications reflect the brand's voice and values.

Crisis Preparedness and Management: Proactively identify potential crisis scenarios and develop response plans. Manage crisis communications in close coordination with executives and key stakeholders to safeguard the company’s reputation.

Preferred experience and skills

Education: Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years in communication, with 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally within a related industry.

Core Competencies:

Exceptional Writing and Storytelling: Ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

Expertise in Digital Communication: Deep understanding of digital strategies (SEO, social media, content management) to expand reach and engagement.

Crisis and Media Relations Expertise: Proven experience in navigating media relationships and managing crisis situations.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire and manage a team toward ambitious communication goals.

Influential Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence at all organizational levels.

Strategic Vision: Ability to align communication strategies with the company’s vision and advise leadership on best practices.

Adaptability and Resilience: Skilled at managing high-pressure situations, with the capacity to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
