Commissioning Manager

Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of commissioning managers across diverse projects in the data center sector.
2. Represent the company at meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractor teams as required.
3. Ensure effective systems of internal control and delegation for risk and performance monitoring analysis.
4. Make day-to-day decisions on project progress, resourcing, and provide advice directly to clients.
5. Review project status advised by internal and external parties, modifying schedules or plans as required.
6. Manage and plan resources for site attendances and witnessing across all projects.
7. Manage the review process for design drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to produce a commission-ability review.
8. Manage the review process for commissioning Tech Subs for technical content and contract compliance, organizing workshops for sign-off.
9. Ensure all project deliverables are agreed upon and effectively managed.
10. Manage the production of commissioning plans, programmes, and project test documentation.
11. Manage the setup of BIM360 for the commissioning process.
12. Organize all equipment FAT and manage the production of reports following FAT visits.
13. Ensure project progress reports are produced and issued to management, clients, or other stakeholders.
14. Interface with Package Managers on installation matters impacting the commissioning process.
15. Manage the interface with contractors in the preparation of L1, L2, and L3 commissioning documents.
16. Manage the production of level 4 and 5 test scripts.
17. Attend commissioning meetings to drive time management and resource planning with consultants and contractors.
18. Liaise with consultants and contractors proactively to close out commissioning issues.
19. Ensure all project completion documentation and reports are produced as required.
20. Support the delivery of projects from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC, and Technical Review perspective.
21. Manage and mentor team members, actively engaging with different departments to increase commissioning awareness.
22. Mentor Graduate Commissioning Managers.
23. Work in coordination with the technical delivery team to develop and improve commissioning processes and procedures.

Role Requirements:

1. Degree qualified with appropriate experience or equivalent.
2. Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
3. Fully conversant with ASHRAE testing levels 1-5.
4. Understanding of BSRIA and CIBSE guidelines.
5. Understanding of relevant British and European standards.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Financial management/reporting.
8. Sound working knowledge of contracts (desirable but not essential).
9. Understanding of equipment tagging systems.
10. Strong use of Microsoft suite of software.
11. Understanding of BIM360.
12. Ability to produce programs in Microsoft Project.
13. Good communication skills with all parties, including client teams.
14. Develop good, positive relationships with all parties involved in the commissioning delivery process.
15. Ability to prioritize own workload.
16. Resource management.
17. Ability to work to deadlines.
18. Management of people – motivation, leadership, and mentoring skills.
