Our school is a bustling and diverse primary school nestled in the heart of Edmonton, North London. With a close-knit, supportive team of educators, we focus on helping every child reach their fullest potential, no matter their background or personal challenges. Our mission is to create an inclusive, encouraging environment where all children feel valued, understood, and motivated to learn.

We take pride in our facilities, which include stimulating classrooms, calming sensory rooms, and spacious outdoor play areas designed to support a wide range of learning styles. With a school culture that celebrates empathy, resilience, and respect, we strive to ensure that every child leaves with not only academic success but also the social and emotional skills they need to thrive in the future.

About the role:

As our new SEN TA with a specialism in challenging behaviours, you’ll be instrumental in creating a structured, supportive learning experience for students who need additional help managing their emotions and behaviour. Working alongside class teachers and our skilled SENCO team, you’ll have the opportunity to build tailored strategies that help these pupils engage positively in the classroom, develop self-confidence, and find joy in learning.

Your main focus will be on establishing a safe, constructive environment where students can feel calm and supported. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting their individual needs and helping them navigate their unique challenges. This role is a fantastic chance for someone who is patient, empathetic, and committed to making a lasting impact on children’s lives.

Application Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children with behavioural challenges, ideally within a primary school setting.
• A strong understanding of strategies to support emotional and behavioural regulation.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, resilient nature.
• Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Child Development, or Behavioural Support.
• A commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one and group support to students with challenging behaviours, fostering positive learning experiences.
• Collaborating closely with the SENCO and class teachers to develop and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Supporting students in developing emotional regulation techniques and interpersonal skills.
• Assisting in creating and maintaining an inclusive, positive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
• Engaging with parents and caregivers to support a holistic approach to student well-being and progress.

Perks and Benefits:

Our school offers a supportive, collaborative atmosphere where every staff member is valued. You’ll have access to regular professional development opportunities, and we offer a range of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) workshops to keep your skills fresh and impactful. You’ll also join a community that cares deeply about making a difference; we support each other through regular team-building events, well-being programs, and resources to help you thrive in your role. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who truly cares about making a positive impact in education. If you’re ready to bring your unique skills and passion for student support to our school, we’d love to hear from you!
