Job Description

Bouygues Energies & Services has a fantastic opportunity available for a Project Buyer to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.

You will work on the exciting Sizewell C (SZC) project bid phase, following on from our success on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) emergency diesel generators project. This is a unique opportunity to grow your career with us and be part of something big!

Job Purpose:

To support and manage procurement activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) project, including RFP preparation, tender assessments, supplier engagement, and subcontract negotiations.

The role also involves maintaining compliance with project and safety standards, refining procurement processes, and consolidating supply chain feedback to enhance client negotiations and project outcomes.

The Role:

Procurement Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and support the Procurement Strategy and Schedule with the Project Procurement Manager.
- Refine Procurement Procedures to align with company and project goals.

Supplier & Contract Management:
- Identify and engage potential suppliers, focusing on those with nuclear industry experience.
- Suggest value-for-money improvements based on technical specifications.
- Draft sub-contract documents to meet project requirements and align with the main contract.
- Manage the full tendering process, including RFI/ITT documentation and supplier evaluations.
- Act as the main liaison between suppliers and the project team.

Financial & Commercial Coordination:
- Work with Finance on pricing, payment terms, currency allocation, bonds, and insurance.
- Negotiate cost-effective solutions with subcontractors.
- Issue regret letters and coordinate contract awards.

Post-Contract Support:
- Assist with subcontractor performance management and provide commercial support.
- Ensure supply chain adherence to client contract requirements.

Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain a documented procurement process with approved decision-making milestones.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality policies, and company guidelines.
- Support audits, procurement KPIs, and quality management updates.

The person will ideally have:

Previous procurement experience – we are happy to consider someone from a Procurement Admin background looking to develop their career, as well as more experienced professionals.

Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills,

Strong administration and planning skills.

Experience/knowledge of single source negotiation processes.
