About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Co-Ordinator to support the implementation of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Reform programme in line with the Children and Families Act 2014, associated regulations, and the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
You will work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and multi-agency teams to create, implement, and review EHCPs, ensuring that outcomes are person-centred and aligned with statutory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Evidence Gathering: Lead assessments, gather relevant evidence, and triage families to appropriate services.
Person-Centred Planning: Facilitate multi-agency planning meetings, draft outcomes-focused EHCPs, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Review and Monitoring: Regularly review the outcomes of EHCPs and support schools with pupils who have SEND to achieve their potential.
Dispute Resolution: Address disputes and support tribunal preparations if necessary.
Support and Guidance: Provide advice on personal budgets, appropriate educational placements, and the Equality Act's requirements for SEND pupils.Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in Special Educational Needs.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
Proven experience working with children, young people, and families with SEND.
Knowledge of the Children & Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage caseloads, work independently, and meet deadlines.
Computer literacy and proficiency in ICT systems.Desirable:
Teaching or social care qualifications.
Experience working with schools or educational settings regarding SEND.
Familiarity with databases such as Synergy, Eclipse, or Care First.
Knowledge of the National Curriculum, Preparation for Adulthood agenda, and local SEND provisions.Additional Requirements
High levels of enthusiasm and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
