Job Description
We're recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to join our team, based at our Head Office in Wootton, Bedfordshire.
Working alongside the UK/IRE Head of Management Reporting and Finance Director, the Senior Management Accountant will be an exceptional accountant, not afraid of getting into the detail when required, but who is also able to step back and take a more commercial view.
This role will support most areas of finance, including monthly preparation of income statements, financial analysis & commentary, board packs, assisting with the CAM (capital asset management) process, budgeting & forecasting, and standardisation of financial best practice.
You must have excellent communication skills, able to work with colleagues at all levels, as well as building strong relationships with various departments to help them plan their yearly budgets and walk through monthly results. Business partnering will be key to this role, as it will also involve supporting the Head of Management Reporting and Finance Director in ensuring the department is agile and fit to support the future growth of the business.
You will be responsible for communicating financial and operational trend analysis and risks and opportunities in a timely and sufficient manner, ensuring appropriate documentation is in place to support your conclusions. In addition, where relevant this role will be required to report out under US GAAP, to the US parent company, while also ensuring adherence to corporate processes, controls and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the month end process by producing the P&L, analysing trends, key movements and provide commentary on material variances
Taking ownership of producing monthly and quarterly packs summarising financial performance across business streams
Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations with risks and opportunities identified and actions to mitigate
Managing and overseeing the business' bank accounts, ensuring consistently reconciled and exceptions explained
Monitoring performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variance and making recommendations for improvement where appropriate
Helping manage integration within existing systems & processes
Ensuring that all the company's financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
Planning, developing and implementing the Finance team operating procedures (and policies)
Supporting internal and external audits
Supporting the yearly budgeting, monthly forecasting process and modelling tools to support strategic initiatives
Supporting other teams within and outside finance to create a great working environment and one that drives and recognises high performance
Business partnering with departmental heads and senior management
Improving performance by evaluating processes to drive efficienciesWhat we need from you:
Essential
Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
Several years PQE required
Effective MS Office skills and first class knowledge of Powerpoint. Advanced Excel skills (macros experience not essential)
Experience of preparing board packs or financial performance packs for senior management
Experience of presenting to and working with senior management across the business
Excellent attention to detail
A strategic thinker, whilst also having the ability to think and work through the detail.
Self-motivated, flexible can-do attitude works well under pressure, on own initiative and in a team environment
A go-getter that wants to make a difference
Ability to prioritise workload, juggling multiple tasks and keep to strict deadlinesDesirable
Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge/experience
