Job Description

Langley Trusthas an exciting volunteer opportunity for an enthusiastic, outgoing, fun-loving individual to join us in the role of Activities Assistant at our housing and resettlement services where we support clients with multiple needs.

We are looking for someone to engage clients in activities which will help to improve their health and wellbeing, develop their interests, teamwork and social skills that will help with their integration into the community.

Not only will you make a real difference to the everyday lives of our clients, you will have a lot of fun along the way. If you are an organiser, enjoy pulling together events and activities for others then this is the role for you!

Key responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the Service Manager /Deputy and other staff members:
  • Liaise with clients and staff, establish activities which the clients would like to join in with.
  • Help to run group activities in the hostel, e.g. video game tournaments such as Fifa;
  • film afternoons/ evenings, board games, quizzes, chess etc.
  • Research activities that are running in the community that clients can participate in.
  • Maintaining Professional Boundaries whilst engaging with clients.
  • Work with the Project to arrange social events for clients.
  • Assist clients in maintaining a Healthy lifestyle through activities.
  • Report back to Service Manager or staff team about client engagement.
