We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer to join our team of staff in the Maintenance Department.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week.
The successful candidate must live in or around the Coventry area as you will be required to be based at the hospital.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
* Experience in managing in an Engineering Maintenance Environment. Experience in working under own initiative is required.
* Experience in delegating duties and line managing on site Engineers
* Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at appropriate level of qualification. If electrically qualified, current Electro-technical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card required
* City& Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering essential.
* Time served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical biased discipline desirable
* Fire safety or Fire Risk Assessment training desirable
* Understanding of Quality Management, customer satisfaction and the continuous improvement process
* Qualified in or having a Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines and applicable law
Duties of this role include:
* The provision of Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to the hospital.
* Management and reporting of R & M budgets, reviewing and commenting as appropriate.
* Management of Environment and energy reduction
* Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance to ED’s and local Hospital Managers, Project Managers and / or Minor works Managers.
* Work with the senior leadership team to develop and implement the management tools necessary to operate their facilities to the required standard.
* Liaise with the Regional Engineering Manager and Hospital Operations Manager to support and advise on appropriate engineering issues
* Cover your cluster sites to meet on-call requirements.
* Attend regional/cluster meetings and training courses when required
* Provide support to sites within your cluster when required for Holiday, sickness, Vacancy’s, and or general support provision
