About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and collaborative individual to develop their career in hydrological modelling. You'll work on our client's cutting-edge software solutions, including Flood Estimation Handbook (FEH) tools such as ReFH2, WINFAP5, and the Qube water resource modelling platform. These tools play a pivotal role in tackling the challenges posed by flood mitigation, climate change, and sustainable water management.
In this dynamic role, you'll:
Develop hydrological models and software tools using Python or R.
Contribute to the science and methods underpinning national flood estimation standards.
Collaborate with leading scientists at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
Work on real-world applications with regulators and users to improve software capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Advance hydrological and statistical models in commercial software.
Enhance coding skills in Python and/or R with a focus on user interface design and testing.
Interface with regulators, customers, and internal teams to identify and implement software improvements.
Use GIS tools for modelling datasets and produce technical reports.
Support professional development towards chartership with CIWEM.Additional opportunities include:

Managing research and development projects.
Supporting client proposals and marketing initiatives.
What Our Client is Looking For:
A strong academic background, with a good first degree (upper second or higher) in a numerate discipline.
Experience in Python and/or R coding.
A keen interest in hydrology; familiarity with FEH methods is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
