Job Description

On behalf of a busy and highly successful construction company, we are recruiting for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to work within the Finance team at their Head Office in Bedford. We are looking for a team player who is highly motivated and able to build and maintain good working relationships.
The hours of work are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
This is a varied role in a diverse business. Experience of working in a similar field would be advantageous. Training will be provided.
Duties:
§ Input of accurate data to the sales ledger
§ Checking and raising of invoices
§ Dealing with general invoice queries
§ Working closely with customers to ensure timely payment is received within terms
§ Input of accurate data to ensure credit control reports are effective
§ Assisting with weekly payroll
§ Assisting with subcontractor payments.
§ General administration and assisting other members of the department as required.
Skills and Experience:
§ Preferably some experience of working in an accounts department
§ Ability to work efficiently within a team and on own initiative.
§ Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate reports.
§ Excellent telephone manner.
§ Experience of using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience of database usage would be advantageous.
Qualifications:
§ AAT Level 2 qualified (preferred but not essential) or similar Accounts qualification or training.
§ Maths GCSE Grade 4/C or above.
