Job Title: Junior Contracts Engineer
Location: Stourport
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch), Friday 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Salary: £10.50 - £11.50 per hour (initially), with opportunities for increases as you grow in the role.
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Contracts Engineer to join our team. This role involves supporting the creation of detailed order acknowledgements for clients and producing accurate manufacturing drawings and sketches as needed. You'll have the opportunity to manage simple orders independently and act as a key point of contact for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Become familiar with the company’s products, procedures, manufacturing techniques, and product applications.
* Break down simple orders into detailed acknowledgements using a computerized system, forming manufacturing instructions.
* Produce accurate manufacturing drawings and sketches to accompany order acknowledgements.
* Requisition components as needed and gain knowledge of bought-out items.
* Liaise with customers via email and phone regarding order queries.
* Assist the Contracts Manager with specific orders and tasks as delegated.
* Understand and adhere to the company’s drawing office procedures and quality control manual.
* Provide backup support in the Sales Department when required.
* Follow Health and Safety policies and any other duties reasonably requested by management.
Who We’re Looking For:
* A keen interest in engineering, ideally with GCSEs at grade 6 or above in Maths and English, and grade 5 in Physics.
* At least one relevant A Level grade C or above, or a BTEC Level 3 as an alternative.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
