Salary: £53,000 - £58,000 plus up to 10% bonus per annum

What you’ll be doing
* Lead a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified professionals to ensure the retention and growth of both external and internal clients through expert technical knowledge and adherence to NHBC Standards and Building Regulations.
* Provide a streamlined and effective service to NHBC Core, Claims, and Building Control Services Ltd, in line with the business area's Service Level Agreement and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with NHBC, customer, and statutory requirements.
* Assist in the management of a multi-disciplinary team of professionally qualified Engineers, Project Managers, and Surveyors.
* Assist with the preparation of management reports and staff development including training, coaching and mentoring as required.
* Provide technical support and assistance to others in Technical Services within an area of specialism.
* Undertaking quality monitoring of staff, including claims reviews/reports, as part of the quality management process.
* Provide professional technical advice, as well as support, on the assessment of designs for compliance with Building Regulations and warranty standards including resolving problems with engineering aspects of any submissions.
* Negotiate with developers, builders, and their professional advisors to ensure proposals are satisfactory in relation to building control, warranty and land quality to relevant regulations/NHBC Standards.
* Manage all aspects of assigned warranty, and claims projects to ensure delivery of outputs is within specified timescales and budget.
* On claims, agree brief with client, undertake investigations, report on findings, prepare solutions for remedial work schemes, issue tender information, assess costs and undertake site inspections.
* Ensure compliance with NHBC and HSE requirements for personal safety and that of others.
The ideal candidate will have
* Extensive experience in the building/construction industry with advanced knowledge of the housing and commercial sectors.
* Experience of forensic investigations of buildings, defect identification, and repair.
* Excellent negotiation and communication with developers, builders, and their professional advisors to ensure proposals in respect of claims works are satisfactory in relation to building control, warranty, and land quality to relevant regulations/NHBC Standards.
* Commercial thinking: preparing solutions for remedial work schemes, issuing tender information, assessing costs, and undertaking site inspections.
* Manage all aspects of assigned claims projects to ensure delivery of outputs is within specified timescales and budgets.
* Deliver technical presentations to both internal and external customers as required.
Education and Qualifications
* Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution, e.g. IStructE, ICE, CABE.
