Senior Test & Support Analyst
Primary Purpose of the Role:
Participate in Project and Service Teams, Internally and with Customers, with an objective of protecting live service by defining, developing, applying and assessing high quality and comprehensive Test campaigns for evolutions to current and new solutions.
Through gaining extensive knowledge of the solutions design, workflows and interfaces, provide support to the Service team in the event of an incident, participating to ensure compliance with SLA.

Senior Test & Support Analyst
Primary Purpose of the Role:
Participate in Project and Service Teams, Internally and with Customers, with an objective of protecting live service by defining, developing, applying and assessing high quality and comprehensive Test campaigns for evolutions to current and new solutions.
Through gaining extensive knowledge of the solutions design, workflows and interfaces, provide support to the Service team in the event of an incident, participating to ensure compliance with SLA.
Principal Relationships:
- Customers
- Regular contact aligning on test approach/coverage, scheduling and environment usage, execution and evidence
- Service Delivery / Project Managers
- Matrix managed on a task-by-task basis
- Internal Customer of the work that is executed
- Support them to get agreement from the Customer
- IVVQM/Test Lead/Manager
- Support them as the Test Work Package Manager to ensure the right outcomes in line with Schedule
- Provide experience and insight to optimise policy and approach
- Seek guidance from them to ensure objective achievement
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of the Solution Design, enabling you to design test coverage which balances risk in line with policy/requirements
- Establish the scope of changes and ensure that Test coverage is suitable to balance risk
- Produce high quality documentation across all phases of the Software Delivery Lifecycle and Change/Release Management processes as applicable to the role
- Represent test topics on behalf of Thales during internal and Customer forums
- Report all defects identified during test execution to the Development Teams and tracking to ensure they are resolved within appropriate timeframe to achieve deployment objectives
- Provide estimates and written input to Change Request responses
- Produce input to the post-mortem of a Test/Change/Release with the objective of Continual Improvement of process, policy, tooling & methods
- Manage and maintain the configuration of the Test environment
- Respond to Incidents and Crisis to offer your expertise in diagnosing and resolving within SLA
- Identify and highlight faults or flaws within the solution proactively to anticipate failure before it happens wherever possible (e.g. constraints, license issues, performance concerns, etc)

Essential
- Achieve at minimum SC Clearance from UK Government with possibility of DV
- Able to meet Customers to discuss and help define their requirements
- Able to work with others to understand and help design optimal solutions and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Able to break down large solutions/objectives into smaller tasks to define tests routines
- Able to analyse a situation and assess risk
- Work well within teams and able to speak up to ensure objectives are met
- Able to set up Test Automation wherever the solution design and tooling offered is available
- Excellent at Troubleshooting and Problem Solving primarily on Software aspects
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
- A professional appearance, self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital
Desirable
- Project Management skills allowing for the delivery of wider Test & Validation scope within a Work Breakdown Structure
Experience:
Essential
- The post holder is likely to have had at least 5 years relevant experience in the Testing and Support of complex IT equipment, ideally in Government type contracts
- Experience of working with technologies such as:
- SQL and working with large databases in a must,
- SQL server useful but any other relational database (DB2, Oracle etc) is okay
- Web Services/REST API
- XML
- Jira / Confluence
- SoapUI / Test automation
Qualifications:
Essential
- ISTQB Foundation Level
Desirable
- ISTQB Advanced Level
- Proven Experience more critical than qualifications
- ITIL 4 Foundation
