We are now looking for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours to join our supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of our students.
About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant with specialism in Challenging Behaviours, you will be working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes, providing one-on-one support to students with complex behavioural needs. This role requires a dynamic and patient individual who can effectively manage challenging behaviours while promoting positive engagement and learning outcomes. The role is full-time and long-term, with an immediate start. You will be joining a friendly and passionate team of professionals who are committed to providing the highest standard of care and support to every child.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with challenging behaviours, ideally in an educational setting.
• A qualification in SEN or a related field is desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of SEN needs, particularly related to challenging behaviours.
• Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to working with children.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support children with challenging behaviours on a one-to-one or small group basis, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Assist with the development and implementation of behaviour management plans and strategies.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and emotional development.
• Work closely with teaching staff to monitor and track student progress, reporting any concerns or achievements.
• Attend regular meetings with the SEN team and participate in relevant professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices.
