Twenty4Seven Education is seeking an adaptable, dynamic and reliable Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a remarkable SEN College. This resourceful College need you to join their team of dedicated staff ASAP for a full time ongoing role.
This fun and vibrant College believe that everyone deserves a chance to better themselves. They help young people aged 16-25 with SEND to develop employability and life skills in a fun and friendly way, using a combination of activities, hands-on learning and unique teaching methods.
Pupils attend this supportive College with or without an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). They cater for a variety of primary needs including Social Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Speech Language Communication Needs (SLCN). Learners are at the heart of every decision they make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
* Understand and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding
* Provide 1:1 and/or small group support to reinforce learning expectations
* Offer personalised assistance to students with SEN such as SEMH, ASD, MLD, SLCN
* Help provide an organised, structured and safe environment
* Support students in managing their behaviour following the College behaviour policy
* Maintain clear and professional communication with other colleagues, professionals and parents/carers regarding student progress, well-being and any arising issues
* Assist in preparing teaching materials
* Keep accurate records of student activities, progress and behaviour
* Attend to pupil’s personal care needs
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
* Experience working with children with SEND within an educational setting or similar (minimum of 3 months of experience)
* Child and Adult DBS check on the Update Service or willing to pay and apply for a new one (Twenty4Seven Education can assist you with this process)
* You can demonstrate a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children
* You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
* You are committed to creating a supportive learning environment
