Job Description
Our client, a leader in providing innovative equipment and solutions to the global offshore energy industry, is looking to expand their talented team with skilled Senior Project Engineers. If you have the drive and experience to manage significant, complex projects within the offshore sector, this could be the perfect role for you.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful control and delivery of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with defined project plans and deadlines. This includes maintaining strict adherence to Quality, Health, and Safety protocols in accordance with company policies and ISO 9001/14001 standards.
In this role, you will serve as the key point of contact for the project, identifying and mitigating risks related to commercial, contractual, design, and scheduling. You will work to ensure that financial management systems are up to date, reflecting actual project progress and forecast costs. Any significant variations must be reported immediately to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take full responsibility for the control and delivery of significant and complex projects within agreed time scales.
* Provide leadership and energy to ensure the timely and successful completion of all assigned projects.
* Ensure all work complies with company Quality, Health, and Safety standards and ISO 9001/14001 procedures.
* Act as the primary focal point for identifying and managing project risks, including commercial, contractual, design, and scheduling issues.
* Maintain accurate financial tracking systems, ensuring they reflect the project’s actual progress and forecast costs, and report any significant variations to senior management.
* Mentor junior engineers and graduates, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
* Travel as required within the UK and overseas to meet project demands.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience: Minimum 8-10 years managing projects in offshore structures, drilling, and subsea equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
* Communication: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, particularly in an offshore environment.
* Organisation: Highly organized with strong attention to detail, capable of managing high-intensity workloads independently.
* Qualifications:
* 2:2 (or above) in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural), Mathematics, or Physics.
* HND/HNC in Engineering.
* Project Management certifications (APM, PRINCE2, Six Sigma).
* Offshore Survival certification (advantageous).
