SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Unit) | £80-£100 per day | ASAP Start | Enfield, North London

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant within the school's ASD unit, you'll work closely with children who have ASD, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally. This role is perfect for someone who is calm, patient, and ready to bring a positive influence to the classroom, ensuring each child feels valued and encouraged to progress at their own pace.
Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
One-on-One Support: Provide tailored assistance to pupils within the ASD unit, helping them engage with the curriculum and build confidence in their abilities.
Group Activities: Facilitate small group sessions designed to develop social skills, communication, and teamwork.
Collaborative Planning: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
Progress Tracking: Monitor each child's progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and teachers, adjusting support where necessary.
Positive Reinforcement: Create a calm and structured learning environment, using positive reinforcement to encourage desirable behaviours and build trust with students.What We're Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience with SEN: Prior experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
Patience and Resilience: A calm, understanding approach to supporting students, with a focus on creating a positive learning experience.
Adaptability: The ability to adjust to the unique needs of each child, and a proactive attitude in finding solutions to everyday challenges.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents, fostering a collaborative support network.
