Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

Location: Islington

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:

We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing and supporting children with challenging behaviours. This full-time, long-term role will focus on providing essential support to students in Key Stages 1 and 2, guiding them through academic and behavioural challenges with positivity and patience. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, you will play a key role in fostering a safe, nurturing learning environment where each child can achieve their full potential. Starting ASAP, this is an opportunity to make a real difference in a school that values inclusion and individual growth.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience in an SEN TA role, ideally with a focus on challenging behaviours.
• Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting student development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Assist in implementing personalised behaviour management plans.
• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that encourages positive interactions.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent support for students’ learning.
• Use creative strategies to engage students in curriculum activities and enhance their confidence.
