Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job Description
Sterling Recruitment Services are looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client based in Northallerton.
Day shift role between the hours of 6am and 4pm, with a weekend call out rota.
40 hours per week.
What will your key responsibilities as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer include?
• Take lead role within your team during breakdowns with your skills and experience.
• Ensure the engineering maintenance is carried out in line with the maintenance schedule and effective and efficient corrective action is taken.
• Quick and effective response to breakdowns in more than one area on site, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting possible improvements to prevent further breakdowns occurring.
• Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager and Production Manager and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption.
• Follow good engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department & site.
• Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager.
• Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
• Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled plant downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice.
• Demonstrate basic problem solving techniques to identify root cause of issues.
• Raise Stock and Non-Stock request forms.
• Use of the inhouse system for spare parts, to log and complete job.
What you’ll need to be successful:
• Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship in either mechanical or electrical disciplines (BTEC & NVQ L3, HNC,HND)
• Engineering experience ideally in the FMCG industry.
• Familiarity with process machinery or equivalent equipment and have the ability to fault find
• Mechanical fitting skills
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team in fast paced environment
• Passion for engineering and continuous improvement
