Qualifications


  • BEng, MEng or MSc qualified in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering consultancy and be chartered with IStructE or ICE (or have a clear plan to achieve this).


Experience & Skills


  • Strong structural engineering technical skills within an industrial environment such as oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, manufacturing or defense.
  • Experience / understanding of all stages of the design and construction process.
  • Experience writing clear and precise technical reports and comfortable presenting findings/recommendations.
  • Can work to tight timescales and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to attend client sites, as required.


The Role


  • You will be working on the design and delivery of industrial projects utilising steel and/or reinforced concrete, including sub-structure, from concept to detailed design.
  • You will provide technical expertise to support in the successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • You will have excellent communication skills liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will contribute to design risk management and mitigation.
  • You will develop, or input to, project proposals and tender submissions.
  • You will prepare technical deliverables for assigned projects ensuring compliance with our ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • You will support project managers in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects to agreed budget and programme.
  • You will support the technical development of junior staff.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop new specialist technical skills in blast and gas resistant design (optional).
  • You will have the opportunity to manage the delivery of projects (optional).
  • You will have the opportunity to line manage junior staff (optional).
