Job Description
CNC SETTER OPERATOR
A well-established manufacturer of high quality, specialist equipment, have a requirement for a skilled CNC Setter Operator.
The organisation offer excellent working conditions and a substantial benefits package including a annual bonus.
Based at the companies modern and well-equipped facility in Witney, the successful candidate will work within a small team and be responsible for the manufacture of a variety of components and associated tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting 4 axis horizontal CNC mills in accordance with requirements
Operating the equipment effectively
Ensure programs are running effectively and edit as required to maintain surface quality, cycle time and tool life.
Eliminate waste and optimise process. (Fanuc based)
Loading and running new CNC programs through prove out
Perform 1st off and subsequent inspection
Support operators with effective handover notes, inspection criteria and any requisite action items for subsequent shift
Contribute to a continuous improvement culture by suggesting and supporting process-oriented improvements
Maintain effective housekeeping of machine tool programs Skills & Experience:
Engineering Apprenticeship Qualified
2 years minimum previous experience in setting and operating CNC equipment
Experience of reading and understanding Engineering drawings and
Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection
Experience in producing high quality close tolerance machined components
Experience of basic turning & millingHours of Work:
Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30, and Fridays 07:00 to 12:30 (37.5 hours per week)
