Job Description
About the role: As the ARP Teacher, you will be working with small class sizes of seven students, ranging in age from Reception through Year 6. You’ll be teaching across three ARP classrooms, each of which is supported by a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) and a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This role requires excellent behaviour management skills, as the children in the ARP have behavioral needs and benefit from a structured, calm, and nurturing approach.
About the school: Our school is a friendly, two-form entry primary school located in Dagenham with a warm, inclusive ethos. We offer a nurturing environment, where every child is encouraged to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. We celebrate diversity and promote a strong sense of respect and belonging for all. Alongside our mainstream classes, we have a Nursery that provides full-time places, as well as an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) designed to support students with additional needs.
Our ARP classrooms are situated alongside the mainstream classrooms, creating an inclusive environment that helps children transition more smoothly. The school utilises the Thrive approach to support children in their social and emotional development, which is fundamental to our ethos of creating a caring, positive, and supportive learning environment.
Application Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in behaviour management.
• Previous experience in a similar ARP or SEN environment.
• A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with colleagues, students, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student in the ARP.
• Work collaboratively with LSAs, HLTAs, and other staff to provide holistic support to each child.
• Utilise behaviour management strategies to create a positive and structured learning environment.
• Regularly assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed to support their development.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages social and emotional growth.
Perks and Benefits:
• Competitive daily rate of £160-£210.
• Opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Access to Thrive training and CPD opportunities to enhance your skills.
• Well-resourced classrooms with a dedicated LSA and HLTA.
• Friendly, welcoming team with a commitment to professional growth.
