What the Job Involves

As a Homelessness Advisor, your primary responsibility is to fulfill the Council’s statutory duty under the Housing Act by delivering exceptional information, advice, and assistance to those in need. You will focus on homelessness prevention, providing face-to-face services, and creating tailored housing plans. Your role includes conducting assessments, updating computerized systems, and negotiating with housing providers. You will also work closely with other agencies, manage financial implications, and support welfare rights and resettlement issues. Additionally, you will participate in meetings, assist in preparing reports, ensure compliance with relevant policies, and undertake tasks that align with the role's grading. Your contributions will be crucial in the delivery of consistent service improvements and maintaining strong partnerships within the community.
