Job Description
Our client is looking for an experienced English Teacher to deliver sessions to learners aged 16+
Key Tasks:
* Plan and deliver exciting lessons supporting learner progression
* Promote safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding (CPOMS), following the behaviour policy to report any detrimental actions
* Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS
* Track learner progression on the allocated Google Sheet/Docs/Classroom
* Use a range of assessment methods and provide prompt feedback to inspire learners
* Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate
* Undertake in-house training to stay up-to-date with awarding body expectations and embrace external professional development opportunities
* Attend mandatory line management and team meetings regularly
* Contact guardians regarding learner progress through phone calls/emails and parents’ evening
* Find innovative and effective ways to prepare learners for examination
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
* Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)
* Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area
* L5 teaching qualification preferred – relevant experience will be advantageous
* Extremely organized and motivated, able to manage your own workload effectively and flexibly
* Proven outstanding teaching and communication skills, with an understanding of the Ofsted framework
* Ability to make the subject matter and time in the classroom interesting and engaging
* Solution-focused, able to respond to data trends
* Assertive and confident in learning environment management
* Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience in teaching Functional Skills English (E3-L2), GCSE English, and Core Principles English (Level 3)
