About the role:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to join our dedicated team. In this full-time role, you will work closely with children across Key Stages 1 and 2, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and achieve their individual learning goals. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students, promoting their emotional well-being, and fostering positive relationships.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with children with SEMH needs.
• A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special educational needs.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage in learning activities.
• Implement tailored strategies and interventions to promote emotional regulation and social skills development.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create personalised learning plans for students.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
