Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Grade: Band 6
Trust: Northern Care Alliance
Location: Fairfield General Hospital, BL9 7TD
Ward/Dept: Speech and Language Therapy
Hours: Full time – 22.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Flexible
Pay Rates – Day: £19.10

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced speech and language therapist to join a well established team within the Northern Care Alliance in Fairfield. You will be delivering a service providing high quality support to patients, delivering specialist clinical work as part of the multidisciplinary team with the voice outpatient settings.
In this role you will be required to:
· Evaluate patients to identify speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders
· Develop treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs in order to improve speech, language the communication skills
· Implement techniques to enhance articulation, fluency, voice quality and language comprehension and expression
· Work with patients experiencing dysphagia to improve their ability to safely swallow food and liquids
What you’ll need:
· Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
· Licence to Practice
· Registered with HCPC
· Dysphagia post graduate training and at least 2 years post grad experience of working with dysphagia
· The successful candidate will need to be competent and confidant in preparing and using electronic information.
· The post holder needs to have up to date IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft outlook and word.
· A knowledge and /or experience of using RIO patient held record system would be of benefit.
· Car for community work
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

* Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
