Job Description: Senior/Associate Structural Engineer
Location: Leeds
Working Hours: 40+ Hours per Week, Monday – Friday
Salary: Dependent on Experience
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Associate Structural Engineer to join our Leeds office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading projects, managing teams, and contributing to the growth of our engineering practice. This position requires a strong background in structural design across various materials and sectors, as well as exceptional leadership and client coordination skills.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage projects involving building structures across diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
* Supervise and guide junior engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient project execution and maintaining quality standards.
* Collaborate closely with external clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure seamless project coordination and successful project outcomes.
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and design review sessions, representing the firm as the design lead on multiple simultaneous projects.
* Utilise marketing and business development skills to foster client relationships and contribute to the growth of the firm.
* Act as a mentor to junior engineers and graduates, supporting their professional growth and development.
* Strive to achieve personal and professional development goals, including potential managerial responsibilities and progress towards chartership.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
* A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on building structures.
* Proficiency in structural analysis and design of common materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
* Demonstrated expertise in relevant engineering design software.
* Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining project budgets.
* Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors.
* Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team of engineers.
* Marketing and business development experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and nurture client relationships.
